EMS500 Dual Beam Opacity/Dust Monitor
The EMS500 provides continuous, low maintenance, precision measurement of Mg/M3(N), optical density, and opacity. It is designed for monitoring visible smoke and particulate concentrations in the exhaust gas of industrial combustion or air filtration processes. The operational path length is between 2 and 50 feet.
The EMS500 utilizes dual-beam measurement and the highest-quality optics to assure accuracy and dependability. Our electronically-modulated LED light source is immune to ambient light and carries an industry-leading guaranteed lifetime of 70,000 hours.
Every EMS500 is manufactured to the customer’s site specific requirements and is tested for a minimum of 24 hours on our optical bench. The sensor and reflector are housed in NEMA 4-watertight enclosures and are designed to swing away from air plenum for easy installation and service. Adjustments in alignment are accomplished by utilizing our “Through the Lens” system, which includes a 3-point adjustment that is integral to the air plenum. Calibration is performed manually on-line.
Our user-friendly controller features selectable displays, including a split-screen display for opacity and Mg/M3. Communications are accomplished through RS485 MODBUS. The intuitive controller navigation and easy-to-read fault display are just a few reasons why the EMS500 is an optimal choice for all of your dust monitoring needs.
Since 1990, companies around the world have relied on EMS to monitor the amount of visible emissions, smoke, dust, or opacity from their process. It is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to work with you on your next project. We are confident that you will be satisfied with the performance and worry-free operation of our monitors for years to come.
